               Meade and Celestron get married?  Indeed.....

You will recall I mentioned previously you that the question to ask was not which is the better brand between the two, but
what was the best telescope that would meet your needs.

    And in the case of customer Francis Dawson, it was the marriage of the two.

That's right, and here is what he did:

He purchased a Meade LX850 mount and installed a Celestron 14" HD optical tube on top of the mount.

Ok, so he paid a little bit more to do it this way, but that's not the point.

   The point is he got the system that would do the job for him.  And that's the point.

 You want to be sure to get the right system for you that is going to do the job that you want it to do, whether
that be visual or photographic imaging.

     The technologies for example of the Meade LX850 mount are simply remarkable.  In fact,  I was delighted
to be reading my April Issue of Astronomy magazine this morning over breakfast, and read a review
of the Meade LX850 mount. 

   I had been wondering how well the new Meade STARLOCK technology worked.   Essentially Starlock is
an integrated two camera sensor built into the mount, which automatically chooses a guidestar and then
autoguides the mount while you image.   You should read the review yourself for all the juicy details.

This technology also utilizes Meade's proven Lightswitch Software,
which I have personally seen in action, and it kicks butt!   The Lightswitch software will automatically
center the alignment stars, using the two onboard cameras.

So, there you go: A perfect marriage between Meade and Celestron.

Now who would have thunk?
