Some of the best skies are in Ontario's north.

And if you head North to Manitoulin Island (about 7 hours NW of Toronto), you will reach "Dark Sky Preserve"
country.

My buddy, Paul Beduhn, is the manager of Gordons Park, which is a dark sky preserve, and over the course
of the Summer and Fall, he organizes and host's several star parties.

He does an awesome job, and he is also a budding astrophotographer, and photographer himself.

Paul uses a Skywatcher EQ-AZ 6 mount for his imaging work.

Gordon's park, owned by Rita and Terry Gordon, is an officially designated RASC Dark Sky Preserve.

That means everything is done to preserve the natural beauty of the night sky.

It's rustic camping on site, so if you don't mind that, then you are good to go.

It's really laid back, and you will also meet some other fellow amateur astronomers as well.
