Subject: Stargazing for Stress Reduction-
Hello Friend,
This weekend, Canada's biggest Star Party takes place in Mount Forest, Ontario.
Every year (and for the last 30 at least), amateur astronomers from North America,
and elsewhere, converge at River Place Park, for a get together, a "STARFEST", as it's called.
Beginner or Advanced, it does not matter, all are welcome to this event.
This is a well organized event, run by the NYAA, a group of amateur astronomers
who do an excellent job of bringing in speakers on many subjects related to Astronomy.
Khan Scope Centre is also there with a Display of the latest gadgets and accessories,
alongside other Dealers and manufacturers, such as Meade and Celestron, who send
representatives, who can answer questions about their products directly.
If you happen to be going to Starfest, please drop by and say Hello. It's great to see our
many friends and customers from all over the Country.
Then, when nightfall comes, you can see a wide array of telescopes, everything from a 60mm refractor
to a 40 inch Dobsonian, and everything inbetween. Commercial, homemade, a mix of the two, it's all really very cool.
Of course, many others are taking CCD images and Astrophoto's.
Which brings me to the subject of this newsletter; Observing the night skies, is really a wonderful way to reduce stress.
Even if you are in the City, and can't get away to Cottage Country, grab your telescope or a pair of binoculars and step outside
for just a few minutes and take a look at the sky. Your sense of wonder will awaken, and it becomes even more interesting
as over time, you may start to consider the Stars and Planets as being your friends.
Not only that, your mind will feel refreshed, and your curiosity for the night sky may grow stronger. It really can be
quite addictive.
Get ready for a time of wonderful fall observing, which is just around the corner
I consider Summer coming to an end when the announcement of the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) starts in Toronto every year.
Yes, it was quite a sacrifice not eating a Donut Hamburger being sold at the EX this year .Or the Deep Fried Mars Bar. And also to miss the "Loverboy" Concert ("Everybody's working for the Weekend", "Hot Girls in Love"), just to attend "STARFEST"
Clear Skies everyone!

PS Yes, we will be exhibiting at Starfest, and the retail store in Toronto remains open all weekend as well.
PPS It is not neccessary to register to attend Starfest; you can show up and pay at the gate. Camping is available on site
and families are welcome. Please be kind, and use a red flashlight at all times on the site. Fast food is available on site,
or several restaurants in Mount Forest, not to mention Tim Hortons.
