On Friday, March 18th we will be hosting three speakers who will provide 1 hour talks on exciting topics in the field of astronomy and planetary science.

Ralph Pudritz
Ralph is a theoretical astrophysicist at McMaster University whose research focuses on star and planet formation.

John Moores
John studies Martian weather at York University and has recently started an NSERC PDF in Astrobiology at the University of Western Ontario.

Sara Poirier

Sara received her Honours BSc from UofT and completed graduate degree at the International Space University. Her specialization was the Human Exploration of Space.

These talks are completely free and open to all members of the public! But if you would like to register your seat to make sure you get in visit http://www.starsymposium.ca/registration. The talks run from 7pm - 10pm and the entrance to the event is in the Vari Hall Rotunda at York University. Doors open at 6:30!

On Saturday, March 19th we are holding an interactive event from 11am - 4pm in the Vari Hall Rotunda. There will be a series of experiments, small talks, interactive demonstrations as well at a large number of displays all on astronomy and related science. We will also be hosting an egg drop competition, build your own bridge and various other hands-on activities with chances to win prizes! There may even be a chance for you to walk on water! If you are looking for something to do over March Break, or are just plan interested in learning more about the wonders of the universe come visit us on March 19th! And remember, it's FREE!
