Hello Friend,

How come when they show pictures of a Winter Wonderland, they are never of anyone blowing snow out
of their driveway, or shoveling snow off their decks like I was doing first thing this morning?

I even had to chase off a  field mouse who was trying to sneak into my garage. Bugger couldn't run fast
in the fresh, thick and falling snow.

It looks like the plow drivers on the island slept in though, because our street and some of the other roads leading
into town have not been plowed either.

Tonite I will be heading out to the beautiful Schoolhouse restaurant here on the island., located in Providence Bay.

 It used to be a one-room school back in the day.

 One of our friends actually used to be a teacher there.

Now it's been converted into a quaint restaurant.

Of course, I will be drinking. I sure won't be driving, but I know some idiots will be.  

Fortunately,  we have an
great OPP presence out on the roads tonite here to keep us all safe.

Perhaps next year, I will be able to curl up with a good book by the fireplace and bring in the new year quietly, by
falling asleep reading it.

Many have said that 2016 was not a great year.  I believe the year will be whatever you make it be.

On that note I wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous 2017.
