If you've ever watched the television series Downton Abbey, then you have a pretty good idea of
how the other half lived.

Fact is, that things were pretty formal back in the day.

Let's take that very civilized behaviour, called tea time.

Now when I was growing up, in London, England it was a little less formal, since
we lived in the East side of London.

When I got home from school, I would get a bread and butter sandwich served
up for  teatime.

But sometimes  I would head over to my friends house, Peter where his mum
would bring out this delicious  tin of biscuits.

Boy, where they ever good!

Chocolate covered digestives,  wafer cream filled crackers,  jelly and custard filled...
and of course some Cadbury chocolate fingers.

Those were the days, when your  parents let you wander the neighbourhood, without
fear of being accosted by strangers, and those of ill will.

Of course, there was still the neighbourhood bully to contend with, but you just
had to be able to run faster than him, after teasing him of course.

Feared by all the neighbourhood kids.
