Before we get started, let's make it very clear that the #Metoo movement is a much-needed bellwether
of change, that needs to take place because of the attitudes and behaviours of some people in our society today.

So I am not undermining that. There have been victims, that is not in question.

People like Bill Cosby need to be held to account for their actions.

He was convicted yesterday in the courts. He could not buy his way out of this one.

"Hey, hey hey it's Fat Albert, and I'm here to drug and  molest you" simply does not cut it, Bill.

However, some people will also misuse the movement either for their personal gains.
Attention seeking or mental illness or who knows what.

Tv host (anchor of The Agenda) and author Steve Paikin was recently accused of sexual misconduct by
 Sarah Thomson (A former Toronto mayoralty candidate).

Thomson accused Paikin of making sexual advances during a dinner in February 2017.

Paikin (who also resides on Manitoulin Island in the Summer )  denied the accusations.

Yesterday, after exhaustive investigation he was found not guilty on all charges.

Paikin is an honourable guy and the amount of distress he went through because of this ordeal
was and is horrible.

And undeserved by any stretch of the imagination.

Imagine if this happened to you.

Someone decides they are just gonna make some stuff up because :
1) Money
2)  Mental illness
3) attention seeking misfits.

Well, that's my point here.

That's the danger when a positive moment is misused for the wrong reasons.

As a result, the credibility of the movement will come into question.

Jilted lovers will be crying: #Metoo!  For the wrong reasons of course.

Fortunately, Paikins employer TVO decided to wait out the results of the trial and did not
suspend him from active duty.

Justice prevailed in this instance but will it always?

A tough question I put forth to you to consider.
