Now the we are into the Spring weather, we are starting to see more CLEAR SKIES.
It’s a pleasant surprise for many amateur astronomers who received telescopes over the holidays and and now excited to start using their gear.
Most amateur astronomers are fair weather observers. Personally, I don’t mind observing in the winter, because there are so many fantastic objects to observe it’s great.
However, the entire month of January was cloudy here in the greater Toronto area, so
spending more time in the hot tub, instead of observing was the name of the game.
Many people talk about how they want to observe galaxies, star clusters and nebulaes, but in order to do so and actually see any detail, you need one thing: APERTURE!
Look, I don’t care How wonderful the optics are in your 4” refractor, apo or otherwise.
If you are going to observe faint fuzzies, you need aperture.
Period. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
As a reminder, we are talking visual astronomy here, not CCD imaging or astrophotography.
That’s a different ballgame Altogether.
In the name of aperture fever, we are putting some LARGER aperture Explore Scientific dobs on sale for a limited time.
3 models: 10”, 12” and 14”
The good news is that we actually have these available and in stock, so no waiting months

Clear Skies,
Ray Khan
