Last year when I was in Northern California, I dropped into a small town, along the Pacific Coast Highway #1.

If you've never driven the Pacific Coast highway, #1, it's quite a lovely drive, and hugs the coast from San
Francisco, all the way to Los Angeles, California.

That's where I was headed to for a meeting with Celestron, who were about to launch a series of new products

As soon as I mentioned "Toronto", he broke out in a grin, and smiled and said  "Oh yeah, you got the crackhead mayor!".

I just nodded of course. What else can one do?

Yes, Mayor Rob Ford did put Toronto on the map, in the most obscure places.

Being on the Jimmy Kimmel show on late night American tv, certainly made for good fodder
for comedians everywhere.

 A  new Mayor was elected last night, and many in Toronto, breathed a sigh of relief.

PS It's kind of spooky, but I'm sure we have not heard the last of Mayor Rob Ford. And he did retain his
      seat as a local councillor in his riding.
He is already looking ahead  to the next elections in 2018, four years from now.  Will history repeat itself? Only time will tell!
