Subject: Polar alignment equatorial mount woes? Celestron has the answer.
Hello Friend,
If you have used any type of equatorial mount and tried to do a polar alignment you know what a royal pain the azz
that can sometimes be.
Let me not mince words here: Doing a polar alignment is one of the features of equatorial mounts I detest more than anything
Actually, me say that again: I despise doing polar alignments with any kind of mount German or otherwise.
What comes to mind in particular was one winter where was kneeling in the snow trying to get Polaris centered in the polar scope
visually on a CG5 mount. It was a horrid experience and I eventually gave up, because it was too cold.
For years, I have harangued manufacturers across the board to come up with a better solution to this issue.
Surely a better solution to this problem could be found to make life easier for the amateur, especially those do any kind of
astroimaging where if you don't get the polar alignment right, you might as well not even bother.
Enter the brilliant engineering team at Celestron, who just released this new innovation.
Introducing the all new Celestron CGEM II mount

The Celestron CGEM-II series has a new innovative Polar alignment procedure called All-Star (patent pending). All-Star allows users to choose any bright star, while the software calculates and assists with polar alignment.
Yippee! And guess what else?
Another great feature of the CGEM-II, sure to please astroimagers, is the Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PEC) which will allow users to train out the worm gears periodic errors, while the mount retains the PEC recordings.
Best news of all? We have these in stock right now.
So before you dig into your thanksgiving turkey and promptly fall asleep, I strongly suggest you pick up the phone and give us a
