Subject: Only gratitude today
Hello Friend,
A beautiful fall day today, with the sun shining as I took my morning walk along the shores in
Manitoulin Island.
I spent some time contemplating the many soldiers and veterans who served and continue to
serve in the armed forces, so that you and I can enjoy the many freedoms we have today.
Many of these men and women sacrificed their lives and so today I offer
gratitude to these people: Past, present and future.
And hope you too are able to take a moment out of your busy day to do the same.
Clear Skies,
Ray Khan
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
