It really is great stargazing during the day, and being reminded once again, that the Sun
is truly what gives us daily like on our fragile planet, the earth.

1) Dress in layers; Yep, I wear about four top layers all told. See, if you are too hot, you can always
   remove a layer.  However, if you are freezing your ass off, you are not thinking about
   adding a layer, you are thinking of getting back inside, where you can be as snug as a bug.

2) Wear long johns.  (For the ladies, it's leotards.)Yep, it is not much of a fashion statement, and don't do this if you are
    on a date with someone you want to impress either :)  They do keep you warm, and if your legs are warm, you
    will fell warm.

3) Use the toe warmers, and glove warmer chemical packets.  Nuff said!

4)Wear warm lined boots and thick socks! (For the ladies: Anything but UGGS, not only are they ugly, but make a terrible fashion statement as well)

5)Gloves that are thin, let have a warm lining, so you can handle eyepieces, etc.. Some now come with a neoprene tip, so
   its easy to grab eyepieces, and other accessories without removing your gloves.

6)Cover your head; Ear muffs work, as do Russian hats, and scarves.  Just keep your head warm.

7)take a thermal mug with hot chocolate, tea or coffee.  (Optional: shot of honey,  rum or baileys, but it's strictly optional )

Same tips apply if you go out stargazing at night.

I know it's mostly commonsense, but you would be amazed that a lot
of folks, just don't do it, and then complain that it was too cold to go observing.
