Long Weekends are awesome! Everybody loves them and the May 2-4 weekend is
the one a lot of folks look forward to as the official Start of
the Spring/Summer weekend. A great time to pull the telescope up from the
basement, or the storage closet and put it to use!
Also, time to be aware that more people are out and about on the
streets, and some of them are not looking where
they are going. That includes kids.
This morning, I almost ran over two people on residential streets (they both
stepped out from behind trucks , one was a gardener and the other
a construction worker) and they were not paying attention to the fact that
they might get killed! Fortunately, I was travelling at a slow rate of
speed
in both cases....So, just be aware out there!
The Sun is very inspiring! Yet, many folks have never looked through a
Solar Telescope, and safely observed the Sun. So, starting this weekend
and every Saturday over the next few months, we are going to be setting up
a Solar Telescope (weather permitting) in our parking lot between 2-3pm
and invite you
to come out and take a look. You may not have any ideas on what you are
going to see, but he Sun is very much alike with activity, and depending
on conditions on any given day, one can see prominences, Flares and other
Surface detail. We invite you to join us!
