Here is the problem when you have your birthday so close to a major holiday like
Christmas.

You usually get "gypped" on the birthday present or you hear statements like
"we combined the two gifts"

Sure you did!

As a kid, I never really believed that one and somehow always felt shortchanged.

Now of course, I might have been totally wrong.....after all, I was a kid, what did  I know?

Nowadays, gifts are not really the priority,  the gift is seeing friends and family and I am
pretty happy with that.

Really.
