Subject: Is it time to upgrade your telescope's firmware?
Hello Friend,
Take advantage of the winter to upgrade your telescope's firmware.
With Spring just around the corner (2 out of 3 groundhogs agree), don't wait until the warmer
weather to do this.
If you don't do this on a regular basis, you may run into all sorts of problems
with your telescope either not pointing accurately or aligning correctly,
and you will be scratching your head.
Get your instrument ready now.
The good news?
Upgrading your telescope's firmware is FREE.
The majority of manufacturers provide the downloads on their websites, usually listed
under the support pages.
This also applies to computerized equatorial mounts.
Here are some important tips:
1) Be sure that you are downloading the correct version of firmware for your model of telescope
and hand control.
2) In some cases, you may need an inexpensive cable to do this. If you are not sure which one
to obtain for your particular instrument, give us a call 416 783 4140 or 1 800 580 7160.
By upgrading your telescope firmware, you will be taking care of any bug fixes that might
have been resolved in the telescope's computer control.
Good Luck!
Clear Skies,
Ray Khan
PS If you don't want to do this yourself, we can also provide the service to you for a nominal fee.
