Subject: How Al Nagler went from designing women's Bra's to Eyepieces

Hello Friend,

    Every year, I meet up with Al Nagler of TeleVue, at the NEAF astronomy conference in held in New York.

And he always has some amazing stories to tell;

     Al has worked at many different jobs in his life, before he started TeleVue optics, with his wife Judi many
decades ago.

Al's father died early, and so Al actually ended up going to work during the day, to help support the family,
and going to school at night. (He actually gave up a  daytime school scholarship to do this.)

One of the jobs he had was actually designing the wire frames for women's brassieres way back in the 50's.
He was a draftsman by trade, and actually did the technical drawings to ensure the supports had high quality control
standards.

(Remember the  Jane Russell in the TV commercials for the Playtex "18 hour bra"?.....hilarious!)

   Another job he had, at the National Starch company, in the Bronx, where he worked under terrible conditions
testing chemicals and solvents. Imagine doing that without much ventilation!

One day he had a brilliant idea...he made a batch of hydrogen sulfide ("rotten eggs"), and blew it down the hallway
with the help of a fan to the corporate offices......

For that splendid move....he was fired!

     I will tell you more about Al another day, but right now, till January 20th, we are honouring Al's contribution
to the amateur telescope industry by offering a rare sale on his finest astronomical telescopes..

    You can save 10% on several models of TeleVue telescopes....
