Last night was a reasonably good night in Toronto for some backyard observing and telescope testing.
Having just purchased one of the 60th Anniversary Edition Nexstar EDGE HD telescopes just released by Celestron to celebrate their 60th year in business, I decided it was time to give it a first light test.
I will post more details on that another time. Here are some of the things I already like about this instrument.
*Teardown is easy, because the Tube detaches from the Fork, and attaches to the drive base via a dovetail. Makes it easy for setup. The tripod is lightweight and stable.
*Has the Starsense Auto-align device. Flip the switch and wait about 3 to 5 minutes for it to do a self alignment to the night Sky using it’s onboard sensitive CCD camera, and that’s it.
You are ready to start observing! Kudos to Celestron’s design and engineering team: Some of the best in the business .
*Built in Lithium Ion rechargeable battery means no wires to trip over. It’s self Contained!
