Hello Friend,

Well, no doubt by now you have heard all about the infamous CNE "Cronut".

 The  Cronut Burger, which is a deep-fried doughnut-croissant hybrid stuffed with meat and cheese and topped with maple bacon jam
was supposed to be the star of the Canadian National Exhibition,  ("The Ex")  for which many of us who live in Toronto mark as the
official countdown to the end of Summer.

I was getting a real hankering about going to the CNE to try one of these until I read these words by Toronto's own Mayor, Rob Ford
(infamous in his own right).

 “It’s terrible when people have diarrhea and are vomiting all night,” he said Thursday. “You get food poisoning — it is the worst — I’ve had it a couple of times and you just feel like you’re dying.”

Dozens of people complained about this experience after trying the Cronut.

Needless to say, Health Canada moved in swiftly and shut the operation down.

And I kinda lost my appetite for the Cronut real fast as well.

Another of life's disappointment's.
