Hello Friend,

Listen, I will be the first to admit that there are some nights when I really don't feel like
hauling my telescope out into the yard to do some observing.
And...this might be on a really good night!

Here are some excuses I have used:

"I'm too tired!:  (That's a favorite)

 "The  Movie "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island " is on tonite!"  (don't laugh: they ACTUALLY made such a movie)

"It will cloud over in about 10 minutes": (weather forecast: Clear Overnite!)

"I have to load the dishwasher tonite, oh dear....".....and the list goes on!

 and I am sure you can come up with  a few of your own.

But here's the thing........

Even if you go out for just a few minutes of observing, and look at just even one object, you will be inspired!
I'm not kidding. Just try it!

For example, you might just grab a pair of binoculars, and take a look at Jupiter and its satellite moons for example.
Or, if you have a large telescope for serious "all nighter sessions" then get a portable grab and go telescope
so you can get a quick fix for a few minutes. I use a 90mm Refractor for that purpose, which has a lightweight
Alt azimuth tripod. Nothing fancy, but ideal for cool Spring nights, to get a sneak peak at Orion, the Pleaides,
or Venus.

Having a current astronomy magazine is handy to find out what other cool, obscure objects might be visible is useful too.
Or, just google online.  You can get several apps from your smartphone as well, such as the Celestron SkyQ, which I use on
the Iphone.

Here is one that Khan Scope Customer, Geoffrey S. from Bristol, Uk came up with " Time to buy a scope that does not
require a forklift to move it"

Ok, Geoff, it that's the case, well perhaps it's time to consider trading that telescope for something that is smaller and lightweight.
Something you might actually use! How about that? Who would have thunk such a thing??

Did you know, with some of the current technology on Meade and Celestron telescopes, you can actually get
an instrument that does the entire alignment procedure for you? No stars to align too, you simply turn it on and
the instrument does the rest. The Meade Lightswitch Series does this, as does the Celestron SKYProdigy Series.

In fact, I look forward to the delivery of my latest telescope acquisition which is the Celestron SkyProdigy 6" SCT, which
I am quite excited about trying out .

Actually, it just showed up in time for the Easter Weekend.

The Easter bunny is for Real!

Yes I admit it is the The Lazy Man's way to Astronomy!!

However, on some nights, if that is what it is going to take..............
