Subject: Help stamp out telescope abuse
Hello Friend,
Ever heard of "telescope abuse?"
Sadly we do see it on occasion here at the store, and I am going to share an example of it with you.
Last week a customer purchased a telescope.
Now that's fine, the only problem is that they were in such a rush to use the instrument that they did not
bother to take the time to read the basic usage of the components of the telescope in the provided instruction manual.
Especially the one where it says: "Do not overtighten the declination knob, or you might strip the gear".
Now if you do that, it is not covered under the manufacturers warranty.
It is considered misuse, or abuse.
The declination knob, is the knob that controls the telescopes movement on the vertical axis
from 0 to 90 degrees.
Of course, the telescope was not usable at this point, and parts would have to be ordered
from the manufacturer, and that could take a few weeks in itself.
What is the lesson here?
If you get a new telescope, and you are unfamiliar with the operation of it, take some time to
read the instructions, so you are clear on how it works and operates.
This will save you and us some time and frustration.
Now many people do take the time to treat telescopes like the fine instruments
they are, so fortunately this does not happen often.
Now here is a telescope that requires very little input from the user.
In fact, it aligns itself automatically.
Plus right now, you get a whole bundle of FREE accessories when you
purchase it. If you bought the accessories separately, you would pay
a $595 US funds for them.
