Subject: Happy Wife, Happy Life
Hello Friend,
You may have heard that saying before.
The thing is, it's true.
And unfortunately one of the things most men (including myself) forget on occasion.
A fellow dropped by the store this week. He was an airline pilot visiting from another country.
His wife is an amateur astronomer and has a Celestron Nexstar 8 SE telescope.
This is an excellent telescope for any serious amateur astronomer in my books.
Here is the problem she was having. She was having difficulty using the Skyalign
software that is built into the operating system of the telescope.
The telescope will assist you in lining up the three stars so you can use the automatic "goto" functions of the telescope.
Celestron themselves became aware of this a few years ago and came up with a new accessory device
called the Starsense Autoalign.
What the Starsense device does is AUTOMATICALLY do the telescope alignment for you with
a flip of the switch.
It removes the drudgery of you having to do the manual alignment.
That can be a real pain in the ass for some people. (I'm lazy, so me too).
Now the fellow said, that it was a pricey accessory and he would have to think about it.
Sure, that's understood.
In the meanwhile though, he has a wife who can't use her telescope and is frustrated.
That is not a good situation either.
Marriage counseling is not my specialty though.
Now, some good news for you if you own a Celestron computerized telescope/mount: The Celestron Starsense works with most mounts and models of Celestron telescopes.
The list is on the Starsense description page.
Until this Sunday, May 8th, you can save 10% off the purchase price of a Starsense.
If you have a wife, girlfriend or a Mother who is an amateur astronomer keep in mind that Mother's day is coming up soon
and if she happens to own a Celestron instrument, this might be an ideal gift.
As for the pilot, he may end up in the doghouse with Snoopy.
We'll see.
Clear Skies,
Ray Khan
