Subject: For the love of Al Capone
Hi Friend,
Aahhh...the good old days.
Or were they?
It was a crisp, cold day on Clark Street in north Chicago, on
Valentine’s Day 1929.
Seven men were working in the Lincoln car garage that day.
Two men dressed as police officers and several men dressed in suits and
ties
Entered the garage.
The men working in the garage were told to line up against the wall with
their hands up
Two Thompson sub-machine guns were used to gun those men down .
Five of the men were members of the Bugs Moran gang, a sworn enemy of Al
Capone, the notorious gangster.
No one was ever convicted in the slaying of the Moran gang members.
Capone was conveniently in Miami, Florida at the time and when contacted by
Telephone by a reporter he accused Bugs Moran of staging the whole affair.
“They don’t call him Bugs for nothing”, retorted Capone.
Fortunately for Bugs Moran, he was late to the garage that morning so his
life was spared in the melee.
So much for the “good old days”.
Now, I’m going to offer you a sweetheart of a deal for Valentine’s
Day.
