I was talking to the good folks at TeleVue this past week, as we just received our first shipment of the new
TeleVue 4.7mm Ethos  eyepiece, and I must admit, it looks pretty darn impressive!

Looks like optical designer Paul Dellachaie over at TeleVue has been hard at work again and this
time managed to get the Christmas Elves in order, to get this out in time for the holiday season.

We also got a large shipment of other TeleVue eyepieces, including the new TeleVue Delos 6mm and 10mm eyepieces.
Now, if you have not seen these, you are in for a treat! You simply can't beat them for value,
and high contrast views that bring you closer to

Ok, so that was the good news!

The bad news is that TeleVue is increasing most of their eyepiece prices
on January 1st 2012.  This certainly was not welcome news, but to be fair, they have not had any price
increases for a few years,, and can no longer absorb higher rawer materials cost.
Add to that the recent Japanese Tsunami, and increase in rare earth glass prices, and....well, you get the picture.

Televue works with only trusted sources in the USA, Japanese and Taiwan. That is why there build
quality is second to none. On top of that, each eyepiece is individually tested and inspected by Televue
at their manufacturing facility in the USA.
Frankly, when I visited the TeleVue factory in New York State recently and saw how detailed their testing
and production was, I walked away thinking if customers saw this, they would be really impressed.

In fact, so strong is their confidence in the quality of the product, that TeleVue has also just announced
an increase in their 5 year warranty to a Lifetime Limited Warranty of all eyepieces and Barlows, Powermates
to the original purchaser!
