Hello Friend,

A number of people I have spoken to recently at Star Parties and other astronomical events
have related to me that they don't seem to have enough time to Stargaze as often as they would
like too.

These days, we all seem to be busy with various commitments, to work, spouses, kids,
and other interests.

One of the reasons expressed most frequently was that, that either the equipment they
had took too long to set up, was heavy (everything gets heavier as you get older it seems...)
or too complicated too use. And, in order to justify taking it out and setting it up, they wanted
some kind of guarantee that the weather was going to be clear for most of the evening.

Well, my experience with that is that you  just can't count on the weather; I recall setting my equipment
up a few times, and then within 30 mins to an hour the clouds rolled in. Oh well..........

Well, we can't help with the weather; but we can help with on the equipment end of things.
If your telescope is too bulky, or not working, or old technology, then do consider trading it up
for some of the new products in the marketplace.

   If you haven't seen some of the current models in the marketplace, you will be surprised at
how many of them have been streamlined and made much more portable, without sacrificing
quality of optics, or mechanical performance. Manufacturers have done a stellar job of responding
to the needs of the marketplace. You will be pleasantly surprised! 

Another thing that has improved as well, is Goto telescope accuracy, and of course Meade and Celestron
both have Self Aligning telescopes as well. Simply flip the switch, and the instruments self align
with no added input from the user.

For CCD imagers, Celestron has the EDGE HD  telescope Series (on sale this month) and Meade Instruments has
a new line of Apo refractors. William Optics, Orion, & Skywatcher as well.
