The
STAR Symposium is a combined effort between the Department of Physics and
Astronomy, the York University Astronomical Observatory and the York University
Astronomy Club to celebrate York’s 50th anniversary and the International Year
of Astronomy. Khan Scope is pleased to support this event, and if you are able
to attend, it will be well worth it.
There are a number of interesting
speakers and events running during the day, and some possibilities for night sky
observing! Plus a tour of the York University Observatories.
This year we are delighted to have Ivan Semeniuk, a journalist from the
University of Toronto, and Bob McDonald, the host of CBC Radio’s “Quirks and
Quarks” available to speak for us during the evening phase of the event.
