In the last newsletter, I had mentioned the possibility that Wiarton Willie, that Weather prognosticating Groundhog
who incorrectly predicted an early Spring, should possibly be let go from his job. (i.e. Fired!)

Well, it seems our   American friends south of the Border, have decided to go just a bit further than that!

 Punxsutawney Phil,  from Cincinnati,  the furry rodent has been charged with misrepresentation of spring, a felony "against the peace and dignity of the state of Ohio," wrote prosecutor Mike Gmoser in an official-looking indictment.

"Punxsutawney Phil did purposely, and with prior calculation and design, cause the people to believe that spring would come early," Gmoser declared. 

 (Poor Phil, he didn't see his shadow apparently, and said that Spring would arrive early!)

 The penalty?

Death,   Gmoser said,( tongue  in cheek).

Needless to say, security for Phil the groundhog has now been beefed up.

  Fortunately for Phil, he lives right next to the Police station!

         Anyway, now that Spring really appears to be here (Sun has been shining in Toronto quite a bit lately),
