Subject: Buy an acre of the Moon for $20!
Hello Friend,
But why would you?
Some outfit calling itself the 'Lunar Embassy' , the only company with a legal basis for selling Moon Land
according to their website, is promoting this to unsuspecting individuals.
Yup, for $20 an acre, you can buy as much acreage on the Moon that you like.
The website goes on to say: "Printed on high quality parchment paper, with gold heading, the Ten Acre Lunar Deed comes complete with a gold frame ready for hanging in its pride of place"
Here is the problem though: If you do buy it, you will then have to assert your ownership to said property.
And how are you going to do that?
If you want to "own' acreage on the moon, just go and print your own certificate claiming ownership,
and if anyone want's to challenge you, then tell them to take it up in the court of 'Lunacy'.
Because that is rightly where it belongs.
I have a better idea: You can observe the Moon, and enjoy it in all it's glory and splendour,
and you can do it with your telescope or binoculars.
And if you are just starting out in the hobby, these new Mini Dobsonians from Meade
are a perfect choice for you.
Check them out.
