Melody Windsor’s power to breathe life into even the emptiest shell of a person. Melody is as beautiful as she is sweet and patient and good, and as much as Ian wants to avoid her charms, he can’t help but be touched by her persistent efforts to reach him. But though he’s drawn to her, Ian believes the most selfish thing he could ever do is saddle Melody with the burden that he brings with him.
Hard as Ian tries to stay away from Melody when Mother Nature suddenly shakes the literal foundations of Cripple Creek, Ian finds himself running straight into danger to rescue the woman he’s fallen in love with—and praying for the first time in a very long while that God will spare her life and maybe even his. Because suddenly, Ian has a reason to live again.
