Georgia Petrillo becomes a mail-order bride and runs away from her abusive fiancé and greedy parents. She arrives in the sleepy town of Copper Trail to meet her fiancé Tim Clark, who isn’t expecting her but marries her almost instantly at her demand. However, Tim soon finds out that the woman he wrote to is very different in real life, and all kinds of troubles arise.
Georgia has no concept of the word love and she is simply using her husband as a means of escaping a terrible life and a way to fund her passion for painting. She never planned to fall in love with the kindhearted man who runs a ranch and gets under her skin. She finds herself smiling more and more and the more she realizes that she’s falling under his spell, the more she pushes back, determined not to be hurt.
However, Tim is slowly enchanted by this prickly woman who glares at him when he gets too close. He enjoys watching the passion light up her eyes when she’s holding a paintbrush and capturing life on her canvas. He aches for her smiles and is determined to win her over. However, his wife has a penchant for rescuing stray cats and there’s only so much room in the house
