When it comes to his personal life, Zach Cartwright is a fence-sitter, but not when it comes to his experience and skill as a trained and certified whitewater rapid guide for Cartwright Wilderness Outfitters. 

When ex-girlfriend Sharon Campbell reappears in his life for one of his rafting trips, he begins to fear that his inability to make a commitment has ruined one of the best things that’s ever happened to him.

What starts out as an ordinary overnight rafting trip down the rugged Ransom River turns into a fight for survival after one of Zach’s passengers suddenly panics, sending both him and Sharon into the rapids and the raft carrying other passengers downstream without their guide.
