How are you feeling on your second day of the program? Did you have any cravings?

Cravings are natural, especially the further you progress into the program. They can be powerful so review the section in your guide regarding how to fight those cravings and stick to the program.

Are you using your food diary? Feel free to jot down your emotions with each meal.

If you’re feeling emotional as you change your eating habits, that is completely normal and here’s the reason why:
In Chinese medicine, every season supports a different organ and each organ is associated with an emotion. The Fall organs are the lungs and large intestine. The emotion associated with the lungs is grief and the large intestine is responsible for letting go of what your body doesn’t need.

In short, your large intestine is quite literally removing the toxins from your body and you may feel sad at letting your old eating habits or favorite foods go. This is all part of the yin and yang of Chinese medicine, where the two sides balance each other for optimal health. When this relationship falls out of balance, illness can occur and you may experience mood swings.

Make sure that you are giving your body and emotions the self-care they need throughout the program.

Today’s Action Steps:

1. If you feel emotional, give yourself the space to process them.

2. Go the Facebook group and share one thing you love about yourself and one accomplishment you are proud of so far in the program.

Next Steps:

• Get outside and breathe that crisp, Fall air! Take a walk or do another favorite outdoor activity.

• Get into the habit of unplugging from your phone and television at least 1 hour before going to bed. Allow yourself to relax or meditate.

As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I’m here for you.

To your thriving health,
