Very soon we (KBC holders) will get instructions regarding what to do with our new G999 coins that we will have over the next few weeks, These will be the replacements for KBC after the hard fork has taken place. Please remember the ratio of KBC to G999 is expected to be 4 KBC = 1 G999 but the value of G999 should start out at 4 x the KBC value on hard fork day (today).

If you are not following the Price Maker Telegram channel you should be, this will help us all with a strategy to drive up the value as a community.

In readiness for this switchover, the advice is to download a G999 wallet to your desktop/laptop computer. The Smartphone wallet isn't yet available but should be soon. There is, I understand, also a browser based wallet coming soon (if you are familiar with the concept, that would work like Metamask).

A colleague of ours, John Rawnsley has already made a G999 download video so to save me some time, I would refer you to his video (link below called JR VIDEO).

(TIP): Before you download I recommend the following action - run a virus scan on your computer prior to downloading the wallet app and then, after downloading it run another.
This is just to be sure you don't download anything with it and to be sure you didn't have the problem prior to downloading.

All web based app downloads have the potential to bring malicious software (malware) into our machines this isn't a suggestion that I believe the G999 wallet app to be dodgy, it is just good old common sense.

Quick written run through for those who prefer it that way:

1) - Go to g999main.net
2) - Click G999 Wallets.
3) - Scroll down the page until you see DOWNLOAD THE APP and select your version.
4) - Be aware that you will see a warning about app not being recognised after you've extracted the files and clicked on the G999-qt app to open (certainly on windows 64 bit). At this point, click more info and run anyway (nb - MAC users will need to go to SECURITY and PRIVACY under SYSTEM PREFERENCES to allow the G999 app permission to run).
5) - Follow the download and file extraction wizard instructions.

Common Q & A type stuff...

When you first download and the wallet opens it need to synchronize (it does this everytime you open it thereafter) - let this procedure run for as long as it needs to. Basically this is the wallet getting itself up to date with all Mainnet activity to that point.

(TIP - if you don't get the option during download and set up - right click on the open application in your taskbar and engage PIN TO TASKBAR - just makes the wallet easier to find in the future).

Why do you need this wallet?

Your new G999 coins need to go somewhere and this wallet is made exclusively for the new coin.

Do you need more than one wallet if you have multiple Karatbit accounts?

I think not, I see inside the wallet that there is a multiple address facility. Click "file" inside the wallet (top left) and you will see receiving addresses. You can set up as many as you like. So if you have two Karatbit accounts (you and the misses for example or you and the old man) - you can label them his and hers or whatever in this same wallet. It is recommended that you use a new address anyway for every receive run into the G999 wallet so you could have his 2, his 3, his 4, hers 2, hers 3, etc. etc.

Should you encrypt (password protect) the wallet (function found under "settings"?

Yes, but there is no need until you have actually put coins in. DO NOT LOSE THE PASSWORD YOU SET UP when encrypting - write it down and stick it in the safe (or do your version of that). If you forget this password in the future, bye, bye coins!

Why, after I shut the wallet down and then open it up again, does it start to synchronize again?

Because the blockchain/Mainnet changes by the minute so it always checks to bring it up to date with the latest data. Leave it open to synchronize until finished.

That's all for now, please pass this on to anyone you sponsored.

Be Safe and Be Well.
