I was in my early teens when I visited London for the first time.
My parents—tired of dealing with a moody teenager during the family vacation—handed me a London A-Z Guide, the money for a 7-day public transport Travelcard, and let me (i.e., sent me off to) explore the city on my own.
Coming from a small town in Germany and barely speaking any English then, the trip was an adventure of a (teen's) lifetime.

As the moderate dosage of caffeine and sugar took effect, I pondered what life would bring and what it might feel like to be on the stage of a concert in London.
Fast-forward 37 years, and I am back at the Southbank Centre, speaking from the stage of Queen Elizabeth Hall to hundreds of indie authors at Mark Dawson's SPF Live conference 2022.
