Subject: Back with Something Epic

Hi Friend,

The recent launch of our first-ever Cozy Fantasy report was truly epic—despite the genre’s cozy vibe.

But today, we’re going full-on epic, both literally and figuratively.
It’s time for the fifth anniversary edition of our annual Epic Fantasy seminar.

High Stakes for Real

Epic fantasy remains a major force in both books and media.

Amazon’s “The Rings of Power” is one of the most expensive TV series ever produced, with a budget exceeding $700 million.

And the giant’s adaptation of Robert Jordan’s “The Wheel of Time” continues to attract viewers. The series is set to continue with its third season, premiering in March 2025, highlighting the genre’s lasting appeal.

Netflix has invested in series like “The Witcher” and “Shadow and Bone,” while HBO’s “House of the Dragon” set records as the network’s most-watched premiere—though last year's Season 2 finale drew only 8.9 million viewers, a slight decrease from Season 1’s 9.3 million.

In publishing, Brandon Sanderson is delivering on his record-breaking Kickstarter campaign, having successfully shipped all four secret novels to over 185,000 backers, following a fundraising total of more than $41.7 million—the most-funded project in Kickstarter history.

The epic fantasy market is evolving. Let’s explore what’s driving sales as we move further into 2025.

In the Kindle market, the sales rank of the Epic Fantasy category continues to trend at a sky-high level.

While Fantasy Romance/Romantasy (which we’ll cover in March) plays a major role in these soaring sales ranks, we still see a thriving overall interest in escapism through fantasy.

So, it’s time for us to re-examine what sells best in epic fantasy:

EPIC FANTASY SEMINAR 2025

Our new genre report examines market segments, sales development, top authors, top publishers, the “Virtual Top 100” bestseller list, top categories, keywords, leading cover art, high-selling genre clichés, Kindle Unlimited vs. Non-KU performance, and more.

As always, I’ll walk you through the research results in a 1-hour seminar video.

Get ahead of the game and be among the first to get your copy:

See you there!

Happy writing, happy publishing!
