There is one qualifier tomorrow, an old friend who finished 2nd (a head) at 20/1 when advised EW on the blog last Monday...
3.55 Beverley: Border Bandit
Ideal Cond: 8f or 8.5f; Good to Soft or better; OR80 or under Form in Cond. 4,1,7,2,2,1,1,3,1,6,1,1, 2 (bold indicates a run this season) (0/19, 1 place, outside of these conditions)
Positives: A perfect fit and has his ideal conditions again. Also 2/3, 3 places, over course and distance.
Negatives: A minor niggle, and only that, over the Going. Good to Soft, Soft in Places is the official going description according to the Racing Post. On Soft he is 0/4, 1 place, on Soft. However he has finished a neck second on soft and I cant think it will be an excuse, unless it is softer than advertised.
My Verdict: 1 point win (7/1 Bet365, 6/1 general). If he runs like he did here last week you would like to think he will place at worse, but at 7/1 I prefer to back win only. Hopefully it is not too soft however he has yet to conclusively prove he doesn't handle it.
