First of all - I hope you are safe and healthy and holding up in the face of the dreadful few weeks that we've all had.

A Place of Reckoning is OUT NOW!
And it’s available for purchase on Amazon. It's also available to read in Kindle Unlimited if you have a subscription.
I think you’ll enjoy meeting the characters. Lucy Stryker is an attractive FBI profiler responsible for sending notorious serial killers to death row. Tom Blake is a widowed detective in the Staffordshire police, dealing with his most serious case to date while juggling a difficult family life.
As the case becomes more deadly, they are drawn together to hunt a sadistic killer hiding in plain sight, while a clandestine cult and criminal gang of Irish travelers muddy the waters of their investigation.
Murder, mystery and deadly secrets are peppered with a smouldering romance in this fast-paced crime whodunit set in the gritty town of Stoke, and the hauntingly beautiful Staffordshire Peak District cut off by the harsh winter snow and ice.
But…with everyone hiding things, it’s not just the victim’s life that hangs in the balance. Will anyone get out alive?
Because when the powerful are pointing the finger, you’d better watch your back…
A Place of Reckoning is a chilling psychological murder mystery full of suspense and deadly twists.
Perfect for fans of L.J.Ross, Angela Marsons, Patricia Gibney, Mel Sherratt, Ian Rankin, and Jo Nesbo.
What readers are saying:
'Be ready to lose some sleep over this riveting novel. I gave it five stars for a very good reason. I wish I could have given it ten stars. It is that good.'
Michele, Goodreads
Full of alternating action and suspense, this is a gripping story of family feuds, sadistic rituals involving the rich and powerful, and long awaited revenge.
I loved the setting, being an area I know fairly well, and the bleak and barren peaks and moorlands of Staffordshire and Derbyshire are perfectly suited to the story.
Alyson Read, Goodreads
The book starts off strong, drawing the reader in and continues to do so until the last page. The ending is a bit of a cliff-hanger and I am excited to see where Mr. Burgess plans to take this series.
