Shade’s Unseelie master has a new case for her. Someone is stealing Unseelie artifacts, piecing together the tools to perform a lost ritual. Shade must recover the artifacts and return them to their rightful owners—
But only after the thief has finished the spell.
Shade’s contract is clear, but her conscience isn’t. The ritual is dangerous, and if she lets the thief succeed, their blood will be on her hands. To make matters worse, this case is full of familiar faces. Faces that still haunt her nightmares.
Every revelation raises the stakes, and soon Shade finds her professional life becoming a lot more personal, and the path ahead less and less clear. When Shade finds the thief, she’ll have a choice to make. And there’s no guarantee that the friends she begins with will still be by her side when it’s all over…

| | I wrote a scene for BETRAYAL that I quite enjoyed, but due to unforeseen plot twists, I was forced to cut it. Because I still find it amusing, I want to share it with you anyway.
In order to avoid spoilers, I'll be sending it out after the release of BETRAYAL. So keep an eye on your inbox about a week after BETRAYAL's release, right around March 24th.

| | It turns out, I'm release day buddies with Patricia Briggs! SMOKE BITTEN, Mercy Thompson Book 12, is coming out on March 17th as well. This is particularly exciting for me because I had the chance to hang out with Patty at DragonCon 2019, an experience I look forward to repeating this year when we're both guests for DragonCon 2020. She is incredibly nice, and she and Ann are both very funny. A finer release-day buddy, I could not imagine.
