Subject: Yes, expect a book next year!

For Readers

Hi Friend,

My Next Novel to be Released in 2023

The great news is that I finished writing and rewriting my next novel, currently under the working title (and will probably remain the published title) Let Us Begin. It has been reviewed by the editor, and hopefully, by early next year, I can finish the final edits and have the final draft finished.

This means that I can move to the next stage of production and start working on things like the cover design, back cover copy, distribution, and promotion. The first half of next year will be filled with those types of activity.

I don't have a release date yet, but It will probably be next summer, possibly in July or August.

So, I'm excited that I'm mostly on track!

How to Re-evaluate Your Writing Goals and Succeed in 2023

This is the time of year when the publishing world begins to wind down. Editors and agents clear their desks. Writers never really wind down, but they do possibly write less as they get closer to the holiday season.

It’s a good time to evaluate what has worked and what has not. Were you happy with your production? Did you finish or are you close to finishing your novel or other writing goals? Did you learn anything new and useful to apply to your writing career?

Looking back at the year and forward to the next year is a helpful exercise during the last month of the year.

Three areas I evaluate

1. Did I finish my writing/publishing goal? Why or Why not?

2. Did I expand my reach with readers?

3. Did I read enough and learn anything new?
