Subject: How to Get Your Hands on the Just Arrived Copies of Let Us Begin

For Readers

Hi Friend,

Preparing for the release of Let Us Begin

It's finally August - Book release month! Aaaah! I'm excited and stressed at the same time. I have so much to do in the next couple of weeks to prepare for the book launch party.

Yesterday, I bought a case of wine because, well, you have to have wine. And I've arranged for a dance teacher to stop by and show us all a few dance steps. If you live locally, you are invited to join us!

The event will be at:

Also, my preordered copies for the event have arrived! So if you've preordered your book using my preorder link, I will mail your autographed book tomorrow

If you would like to pre-order but don't care if it's autographed, you can do so from Amazon and have it delivered immediately.

Another way to pre-order a digital copy is by using this universal link. So if you prefer to read on Apple, Kobo or purchase from another store other than Amazon, this is the best way.

Lastly, for an autographed copy, please pre-order here, and I will get it out immediately.

For Writers

You do not have to write historicals to include historical details in novels

Let Us Begin takes place over three decades, and I included historical details out of necessity and for the authenticity of the novel.

Some of the research I had to do was simple. What kind of cars were people driving in New York in 1968? How much did they cost? What could a low-wage worker afford?

This, as well as many other details, were important to get right. Even though I would consider my novel a contemporary story, it still has historical elements.

Writers of contemporary novels might refer to past events using literary devices such as flashbacks. Or they might simply recall a past event in a conversation, so writers often need to research.

The video I uploaded this week on Youtube is all about adding those necessary details to your stories.
