For Readers

Hi Friend,

Interviews, Vet Visits, Birthday Parties

Have you ever had one of those weeks when tons of stuff is happening all at once and you can't stop to catch your breath? Of course you have! Because that's life.

This week started with a fun interview with a local TV and radio station which was fun and will air in a few weeks.

The rest of the week was filled with normal mom stuff. My cutie pie chihuahua had to get his teeth cleaned, and some pulled, unfortunately, so we spent some time at the vet. It's always so sad to leave them in those cages. Poor little guy. I left, feeling guilty, as he cried for me to come back. Ugh . . . but the good news is that though he was a little groggy, he came through the experience having only lost four teeth and with happy to return home.

Also this week, my niece turns 13, so she's having a little birthday party on Sunday. What do you buy a 13-year-old for her birthday? This was my dilemma. My brother tells me that money is always good, and that saves me time in the stores, so I can give her some cash, but money can't be her only gift. I ended up buying gift cards and venturing into Hot Topic to buy a Melanie Martinez t-shirt. Do you know who she is? I didn't, but apparently, she's a singer/musician that my niece is crazy about. I felt old and out of touch as a young girl at the store led me to the spot where the Melanie Martinez shirts were displayed. I picked one, and now I'm ready for the party.

And I've been preparing for Medium Day. This is an online conference where I will present a session for writers, I will share more about that in the writer section below

For Writers

You are invited to Medium Day!

What is Medium Day?

First, if you are not familiar with Medium, it is an online publishing platform for bloggers. But blogging makes me think of people writing about their life almost like an online journal, and that's not what this is at all. Writers write and publish great, informative articles about all sorts of topics.

All my articles, for example, are intended to help writers improve their writing skills and mindset, and to provide encouragement to beginners writers

Medium Day is an all-day virtual conference, and it is scheduled for August 12th? I will talk about the two questions you must include in your novels. If you attended the RWA conference, I presented a longer version of what I will share with Medium Day attendees, but it will be a nice review, so I encourage you to attend if you can.

First, register for Medium Day, then go to the schedule to find my session titled, "Clarify the Vision of Your Novel by Answering Two Questions", from 12:30PM-1PM PST.

You will get an opportunity to ask questions. I hope to see you there!

If you are just starting out as a writer or you've ever said, "I'd love to write a book" then visit my How to Write a Book group on Facebook to read more of my blogs about writing for free, and to chat about your project and ideas with others.

Or if you want to be walked through the writing process, my course The Easy Tell Your Story Course for Beginners is a great place to start.

And my newest mini-course titled, Clarify The Vision of Your Book and Find The Story Question in One Weekend is now available also.

Below are my social media links if you'd like to connect regularly.
