Virtual Visits (VV's) should be used IN PLACE OF a face to face visit. Where a brief (5 minutes or less) follow up phone call will do, we’ll still use standard phone calls. However for extensive consultation or a new problem that in the past would require a face to face visit, we will start allowing VV’s.

Some times when it may be convenient include when either the patient or Dr. Biemer are out of town, if there is inclement weather, or if the patient is ill and travel is difficult. This will not replace annual medical exams or of course visits where a physical examination is required for diagnosis (eg. abdominal pain or an injured/painful joint). 

All commercial insurers and Medicare Advantage insurers will pay for VV’s. Straight Medicare fee for service will not at this time, but I will allow Medicare patients to self-pay for longer VV’s if they choose ($100 for 10-30 minutes).

Patients may self-schedule for Virtual Visits. We will place several slots on the schedule each day that may be used for this purpose.
