Early Spring Greetings to all my patients and friends,
A quick update for the practice... We’ve arrived at the 10-year mark in our current office space, and are considering options for the NEXT 10 years. Some of this depends on our staffing- I am actively recruiting for both a geriatric specialized advanced practice nurse (NP) and a physician partner. We’re also looking at expanding the Ideal Protein weight loss program, which has led to very substantial weight loss in dozens of patients, and long term maintenance of new weight (over a year now) in many (along with this reduction in medications, decreased joint pain, better sleep etc). It’s been very rewarding for me, Kazumi and the rest of the staff.
We do have another workshop for the Ideal Protein weight loss program this month on March 21st at 6:00 PM (more info below). This is an educational meeting for anybody interested in weight loss. I welcome any patients or friends and family who want to attend. We will also have Physical Therapist Colin Hoobler speaking. His articles are often featured in the Oregonian. He will be discussing the important role of resistance exercise in maintaining muscle mass during weight loss, and how the trainers and therapists can help. This fits well with my continuing interest in aging athletes. I hope to belong to this club for many more years, and have signed up for another triathlon this summer in Bend to make sure I put my “money where my mouth is.” Join me!
