The time to step up has arrived!
On January 30th, 2013, the House GOP released the principles on immigration reform. This is the most clear indicator that the U.S. Congress is serious about moving forward on immigration legislation this year. Since the release of GOP principles, leading lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have released positive statements indicating a real possibility that Democrats and Republicans can come together to pass immigration reform. This is a unique opportunity not seen in many years. While the focus so far has been on the differences between the Democratic and Republican approach to immigration bills, this is the first time that both sides are willing to find common ground to get immigration reform done!
With that comes the responsibility for impacted folks like us to make an important choice - maintain status quo by not participating, or stand up for ourselves. We ask you to come to Washington D.C. to speak with lawmakers and tell them in over 350 congressional meetings that we need more green cards. Below is how you can use this key opportunity to be a part of the process.
- Register TODAY for IV's advocacy event in Washington D.C. to be held from March 1st to 4th, 2014, and ensure our voices are heard loud and clear
- Contribute to IV and help us not only assist other willing members to come to DC but also cover the expenses of organizing such a large-scale event to influence the policy
We look forward to seeing you in Washington D.C. from March 1st to 4th, 2014. |
