This is DHS announcing its intent to modify the H4-EAD rule. And it looks like the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) is scheduled for February 2018.
In the meantime, our intervention in the H4-EAD lawsuit is serving its purpose. If we had not filed a motion to intervene in the H4-EAD lawsuit, H4-EAD would have been eliminated in April of this year.
Our motion to intervene has forced DHS into a lengthy rule-making process to eliminate the rule and has given our members a few extra months of time to work on the H4-EAD program.
However, we are not out of options.
Please join us on a conference call this Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM EST where we will discuss the future of the H4-EAD program along with our advocacy efforts on the legislative front.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind our members that lawyers and lawyers groups were advising our members that the H4-EAD program was NOT going to be a revoked by the Trump administration. We believe that lawyers and lawyers groups were lying to our members through their teeth in order to create a false sense of complacency in the community and undermine our grassroots efforts to improve the situation.
Please stay away from these groups.
