Implantation failure is determined when embryos of good quality fail to implant. This can be related to different causes, such as embryonic, uterine, endometrial, tubal, etc… Successful implantation needs specific “cross-talk” between a good embryo, a receptive endometrium and functional uterus. In fact, the latter, being the “natural incubator”, is the most forgotten cause of failures in IVF treatments, being with own or donor eggs. The first should have the potential to implant, the second, together with a receptive endometrium, should enable implantation and successful clinical pregnancy.
