I know you've heard it said Friend, that happiness is a choice right?
So why would anyone (in their right mind) intentionally "choose" anything other than happiness?
The choice to be happy is based on where we place our focus and intention; it is the mind's ability to filter out any negative input and keep the focus on empowerment and possibility.
In order to remain ‘happy’, our brain must continue to block or deflect anything that is in contrast to a ‘happy’ state.
This choice is greatly influenced by our own resourcefulness that can, at times, be depleted by the magnitude (quantity or severity) of life challenges.
Think of resourcefulness as a bank account and life events as either ‘deposits’ or ‘withdrawals’ from that account.
Each of us is responsible for keeping our accounts FULL enough to accommodate life’s daily withdrawals (because life happens and daily demands will withdraw from your resourcefulness account).
All aspects of self-care such as good nutrition, exercise, prayer/medication, healthy friendships and connections, clear communications, forgiveness, patience (to name a few) create deposits into our resourcefulness account.
Lack of self-care, unhealthy work or personal situations, gossiping, complaining, not honoring your word (lack of integrity), personal and professional demands (to name a few) will all withdraw from your resourcefulness (some more than others).
When the withdrawals outweigh the deposits, it will be difficult for you to deflect life’s’ challenges and the ability to be happy will be fleeting.
Of course there may be situations in life that can challenge even the most resourceful person (we've all experienced that from time to time), however, they will more easily and more quickly bounce back.
Success habits create a resourceful and happy person so, take personal responsibility, practice good self-care and empowering habits and by all means….
Be happy!
To your happiness Friend!
