I just had that happen TODAY. Faced with the reality that I will be selling my parent's home (now mine) where I've been living for the last 5 years is bringing up feelings of sadness, loss and fear. I'm just starting to feel somewhat settled and here comes more CHANGE. I'm no stranger to change and maybe THAT, in it of itself, is part of the problem.
Yet today, as I sat in tears I asked the question, "why is HOME so important to me?" and the answer came rushing in. Because I never had a safe home environment as a child, creating the security and calm of a peaceful home has been a paramount theme in my life. AHA! Now it all makes sense. Now I see the underlying link to the attachment, the love, and the need for all things 'HOME'.
This deep awareness opens up a sense of acceptance, of clarity and understanding that is calming my fearful and sad heart.
Self awareness is at the heart of change and is the GIFT of working with a coach. Most of us are NOT able to truly look at our life, our beliefs and habits from a perspective that creates clarity and impowering choices. We are too close to our life to see it through the eyes of learning unless we have a mentor to guide us through the process.
