Do you know what’s even sadder that not having a vision or dream for our lives? Having one and not knowing how to get there.
I spent 10 years confused, uncertain and stuck in my own patterns of doubt. I knew the dream that took me from a successful corporate job was a hearts calling but I just didn’t know how to make it come true. Unlike the defined tasks I had in my structured corporate job, I now had to figure out how to do perform every role required to effectively run a business. I made the fatal mistake of thinking for way too long that I could do it all on my own.
I spent years in daily frustration that came from not knowing the important things to focus on, what steps to take and in what order to take them. Each day, I entered my office with my dreams to make a difference in people’s lives but no real clue of how to find the people who needed/wanted me or how to let them know I existed. Each day my dream was dying a little more.
I believed I could figure it out on my own. But each day, as I continued to rely on my own knowledge and determination I was becoming increasingly depressed and doubtful; I began to fear I didn’t have what it takes.
My biggest mistake was NOT searching out the RIGHT support I needed until it was almost too late; I almost walked away from it all and was ready to give up on my dream. I think my pride kept me from doing so and I’m grateful for it because once I finally found the right mentor who knew how to get where I wanted to go, EVERYTHING began to change. I finally knew exactly what to do and the order to do it in.
