Hi Friend,
What time frame do you think about when determining what to stock in your inventory?
Many people will say, ‘Well the equipment will be running for years, so I need to have spares available for years’, but while that may be true, it is not a really a key driver of the stocking decision.

The spare parts management planning horizon is the time between when you know that you’re going to need the part and when you can get the part available for use.
Our new video explains the planning horizon and how it is critical to guiding the decision on whether or not to stock an item.
