What is the most effective way to learn something?
Based on the way people access information online there can be only one answer: video.
Consider this. YouTube launched in 2005 and in the past 10 years has gone from zero to 1 billion users. Currently YouTube hosts 400 million videos (including 2 million cat videos!).
The public has answered my question with their time and attention.
The reason video is so popular is simple: you can learn more in less time.
This may be due to the combination of visual and audio stimulation or some other modality of learning but who cares. All that matters is that it works for attaining that initial high-level understanding of a topic*.
This is why video is a major a component of the training available at SparePartsKnowHow.com, why I post tutorials to my blog, and why I maintain a SparePartsKnowHow.com YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/phillipslater1.
One of the main features of my YouTube channel and blog videos is what I call the 2-Minute tutorial. As the name suggests a 2-minute tutorial covers a single topic in about 2 minutes. These are short, easy to digest, nuggets of information.
For the newsletter this month I have decided to provide you links to my three most recent 2-Minute Tutorials.
